School Theme 2025-2026: Abide

The branches are brittle, the leaves have withered, and the life that once flowed through them is gone.
It’s a familiar scene for those of us who live here — but it’s also a powerful image straight from Scripture that captures the heart of this year’s school theme. In John 15, Jesus uses this same illustration to describe our relationship with Him:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (ESV)
Just like those pruned branches from the orchard, when we disconnect from Christ — the true source of life — we wither. But when we stay connected, when we abide, we grow and bear spiritual fruit that lasts. That’s why our school-wide theme at Ripon Christian Schools this year is simple yet profound: ABIDE.
To Abide means to dwell, to remain, to live in ongoing fellowship with Christ. It’s not a one-time decision but a daily posture — continually trusting, depending, and walking closely with Jesus. Abiding in Christ is like a branch firmly connected to the vine, drawing life, strength, and nourishment. It involves relying on God’s grace, His power, and His provision, recognizing that He alone is the source of all good things. It means obeying His Word, following His commands, and remaining faithful, even when life feels uncertain.
In a world filled with distractions, pressures, and noise, we need this reminder: apart from Him, we can do nothing of eternal significance. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, on the stage, through friendships, or within our homes — our students and families are invited to Abide. As we step into the 2025–2026 school year, our prayer is that every student, teacher, and family at Ripon Christian Schools would experience the deep, sustaining presence of Christ.
